INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Individual face to face therapy is where The Mindful Psychologist was born. Our clinicians are incredibly passionate about working with clients individually and holding the clinical space together. These sessions are designed to support you in exploring your story and achieving a better understanding of yourself, your behaviour and your relationships.

SESSION LENGTHS

Individual therapy sessions run for approximately 50 minutes and are based on trauma-informed evidence based treatment.

Face to face sessions are currently available on Wednesdays and Fridays.

COSTS AND REBATES

A standard consultation takes 50 minutes and the fee per session is $200 for our Registered Psychologists and $250 for our Clinical Psychologists. These fees are below those recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) which are currently set at $311 per session.

Medicare Rebates:
With a valid referral from your General Practitioner you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate on up to 10 sessions per calendar year under the Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

If clients are accessing psychological support under an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan (EDTP) they are eligible to access up to 40 Medicare rebatable sessions per calendar year. If you are eligible for Medicare support the rebate is summarised below:

  • Medicare Rebate for Registered Psychologist = $93.35
  • Medicare Rebate for Clinical Psychologist = $141.85

Cancellation Policy:
Under The Mindful Psychologist's cancellation policy clients are required to give two business days’ notice to cancel appointments. Appointment reminders are sent 48 hours before appointments. Cancellations can be made by calling or emailing. We apply our cancellation policy in order to have notice to provide the appointment to someone waiting for treatment.

Private Health Rebates:
If you have private health insurance you may be eligible to claim rebates. These claims are made from you directly with your insurer after full payment for the session. Please note you are unable to claim from your private health insurer if you are accessing rebates through Medicare.
